Guy’s night out
While shopping at Park Royal Village this weekend, I noticed that Lulu Lemon was advertising a “guys’ shopping night”. Snacks, sports, drinks and gift wrapping. It sounds like a great way to lure guys into a small shop full of spandex-like clothing — somewhere you wouldn’t normally find men. Clever target marketing.

I was working in Montreal two years ago and was shopping at their Westmount store just before Christmas. They told me that they were having one of these events next week and actually said if I liked they would put my items aside for me. I did and came back for the event and bought them. Not only did a get a discount, but I also got to experience this ‘guys’ shopping night. Hmm.. eating pizza and trying on yoga outfits, listening to music was fun. Shopping, food, music and a good discount! I think they do have a great marketing team.
Oddly, now back in Vancouver, I live near the headquarters and have people walking around my neighbourhood trying to find it, hmmm… I guess they need to do a bit better at marketing that or do they just want people to shop in retail stores? 🙂
